Welcome to the blog, intrepid browser!
Well, it’s been a long time coming, but the Fat Lamb has entered the 20th Century (yes, I know the rest of you might have moved on to the 21st, but cut us some slack – this is Cumbria, remember, and we haven’t even got Channel 5 yet).
The website has been completely overhauled, and we’ve got a Facebook page, an up-to-the-minute online booking service, and this fabulous (I’m sure you’ll agree) blog.
But why all the change? Well, after a reasonably quiet year, which was on the one hand restful and on the other panic-inducing, it was time to face simple facts – traditional print media as an effective means of advertising, at least in our industry, has lost too much ground to the “new media” for us to pretend it’s still 1975 (or even 1775).
But don’t let all the gizmos fool you. We’ve done our best to give our digital presence a much deserved facelift, but underneath it all The Fat Lamb is still the same homely, comfortable, chunky knit cardigan of a country pub it’s always been – you’ll find a smile, a seat by the fire and a nice hot meal any day of the week.
