The Fat Lamb Hotel is the perfect venue for a wide variety of functions, meetings and parties. Ideally suited to smaller groups within the Hotel itself or for much larger functions of up to 200 guests utilising a marquee within the Hotel gardens. Our emphasis on good quality food, freshly prepared and served in informal surroundings, and over thirty years of experience, lends for a relaxing and enjoyable event, whatever the occasion.

    You’re going to be hearing a lot more from Mally and Freddy, our super friendly management couple down at the Kings Arms – they run the show down there and have been doing a great job of it. It also seems talent runs in the family! Mally’s sister came to visit a while back, and did these lovely sketches of Temple Sowerby – including our beautiful old Kings Arms! We’re so pleased with them we’re going to try to use them on the new menu (we’ll keep you posted on that).

    The next few years will see the Fat Lamb (and our sister establishment the Kings Arms at Temple Sowerby) gently coaxed along towards a brighter future. Not that there’s anything wrong with the present, but the times they are a-changing. We’ll be thinking about ways to make both inns as lovely for our customers in the years to come as they have been for everyone who stayed with us over the last few decades.
