Skipton and Southern Dales
The Fat Lamb Hotel lies just three miles from Kirkby Stephen station on the famous Settle to Carlisle Railway, at the northern edge of one of the most spectacular railway lines in England. Occasionally served by a steam locomotive this line links us with the Southern Dales and in particular the picturesque towns of Settle and Skipton, with its well preserved castle and canal. A regular diesel train service runs daily, and whilst they might not have the glamour from the days of steam, they offer an excellent way to view the scenery and visit these picturesque towns.
